Brown LLC Attorneys in Fremont CA, Jersey City NJ, Huntington NY, Wayne PA & Chicago IL: Review
If you've already flicked through our site for a while it should hopefully be clear that we try to provide varied legal help options rather than simply cramming as many similar firms into our directory as possible. This means a mix of general practice firms, specialists, and even some non-lawyer options that might be able to resolve your issue in a different way.
Today's article covers the middle of those options - specialist firms. In particular, Brown LLC who focus on a very niche area of law to help Whistleblowers. Getting legal help when you are seeking to help make a change was not always so easy. But now there are more options, how can you tell one firm from another?
This exclamated (and apparently Trademarked) slogan across the Brown law practice website certainly sets the overall tone. Law firms that handle a wide range of legal matters will have very different language on their sites such as softer, caring statements about Divorce or several guilt-ridden paragraphs about how you absolutely need to leave a will. Specialist firms obviously have a bit more freedom for directness when it comes to website copy.
But one thing to watch out for when searching for a lawyer is any firms making unsubstantiated claims. For example, if a firm claims to be 'award-winning' but doesn't state what the award was for in any noticeable place - be suspicious. Their award could be for something as minimal as "best logo design" which obviously has nothing to do with their legal abilities.
Another regularly used trick is to claim ancient roots in the community or a very old founding date. However impressive something like 'founded in 1901' might sound - we honestly think such claims are pretty irrelevant. The age of the brand name of a firm is no indication about the quality of service you'll get. You could get a 1-year newbie lawyer representing you from a 100-year-old firm, or a 40-year veteran attorney from a 1-year-old newly set up legal practice. The experience of your lawyer is far more important than the age of the brand name.
Brown LLC use a lot of strong words on their site to describe their skills and expected results. But they also provide a wide range of 'provers' including examples of past cases they have won such as $140million for a False Claims Act Allegation (Whistleblower Case), $100 million for a Pharmaceutical Liability action, $4.3 million settlement for a Wage and Hour Class Action lawsuit, and many more.
With these large settlements and prolific/public case history, Brown LLC and individual staff have naturally been featured on various other sites and outlets on the web including the NTL (National Trial Lawyers) site. Of the firm's founder Jason T. Brown they wrote:
Of course the first place people usually go when they want to research any company in any industry is the public review boards. Most firms provide a testimonials page on their website but according to our poll a couple of years ago, only 9% of you trusted such company-provided feedback. The majority of people preferred to focus on the ratings provided by previous clients on the more popular independent forums such as Google, Facebook, Yelp, Trustpilot, etc.
"They were knowledgeable. They were thorough. Most importantly they were positive"
"was able to negotiate an additional 8 weeks of pay that I didn't think was even possible"
These few snippets from the public reviews are typical of the positive feedback being left on Brown LLC. But we highly recommend people make sure to read through the actual comments left and never rely on just star ratings. Alot of people make mistakes, which could certainly occur with a firm that uses just one word surname for their business.
It should also be noted that on Google you can no longer just search for a firm and expect to see all their reviews at once. You need to search for each individual office they have - e.g. 'brown llc new jersey' then 'brown llc pennsylvania' and so on to be shown the reviews left on each of their locations. The firm has local offices in Fremont CA, Jersey City NJ, King of Prussia PA, Huntington NY, and Chicago IL. Sometimes you need to enter the location even for firms with just one office.
On that subject we need to make a quick note about navigation. The firm's official website which we link to above is www.ifightforyourrights.com and variants such as www.brownllc.com are currently owned by totally different firms. It might therefore be a good idea to bookmark the page if you plan on coming back later. Especially these days with so many possible scams out there such as phishing. One last quote from the firm's site that we think is of considerable note:
General Notes: We don't look into any firm's recruitment program so can't comment on job vacancies or about working there. Changes may have occured since this article was written so please visit the firm's www.ifightforyourrights.com website for the most up to date opening hours, office address, phone number, email address, and other information.
